Teacher Training
An accredited training programme to ensure that staff are confident and competent in supporting the Skills for Life and Key Skills needs of their employees and or learners.
The Crystal Chandelier is a £2.5m project to ensure there are enough teachers in the South West to meet the literacy, language and numeracy needs of adult learners.
PDCs can provide information and advice about local training events and initiatives, for both new and experienced Literacy, ESOL and Numeracy teachers.
The key aim of the Improvement Programme is to improve teaching, learning and achievement in literacy, language and numeracy.
Train to Gain is the national skills service that support employers of all sizes and in all sectors to improve the skills of employees as a route to improving business performance.
ESCalate produces and disseminates resources for staff and students in Higher Education and Further Education involved in

Functional Skills
Functional Skills Support Programme
The functional skills support programme is a workforce development programme preparing practitioners to be fully competent and confident to teach functional English, functional mathematics and functional ICT in the pilot centres from September 2007.
